WARNING: DO NOT PREPAY

This review concerns apartment 51 managed by MONT BLANC BOOKING.

We booked this apartment on booking.com. The listing is not accurately described on the site and did not match the photos. We were contacted by phone immediately after booking it to be told that there is no linen and no towels available, and these are charged extra. We had to call and email multiple times and eventually they were delivered after two days. The call center staff repeatedly refused to offer a refund to allow us to immediately cancel the booking. The Booking.com call center also refused to help with the refund and the manager failed to call us back as promised. Booking.com is a Dutch company in Amsterdam that has recently laid off a lot of their staff because of the pandemic.

Furthermore the Mont Blanc call center staff are apparently in Paris and have never been to the property or Val d’Isere. They gave us poor advice to park on the street where it is not permitted because there is no parking at the property. There are police constantly patrolling the streets and the property is located right next door to the police station. Always used the paid parking building which is a 5 minute walk away.

The property was missing essential kitchen items, there is a TV in the room that does not work, there was no hair dryer in the bathroom, and there is no smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm despite there being a large gas boiler in the bathroom. The syndic of the complex visited the property during our stay due to a maintenance issue (a very helpful and professional person - thank you!) and she confirmed to us that an alarm is a legal requirement in France. She even called the property owner to complain on our behalf. Despite our repeated requests, the Mont Blanc call center and the local property management staff ignored our requests to provide these missing essential items.
